The Journey

As a fully qualified teacher with over 10 years experience across many sectors, I found that teaching during the Covid 19 pandemic presented a wide range of challenges. Switching from the classroom to online teaching, was one of the most challenging.

When planning and delivering online lessons, I found the use of short video clips to engage students with the subject material, was an effective tool to aid recall and help to bring that period of History to life. When preparing my lessons, I found that the more specific the video I required, the more difficult it was to find.

I began to create my own History videos tailored towards current GCSE courses, experimenting with the format and layout, and making them available on YouTube. I discovered that many of my ‘test’ videos attracted a great deal of interest.

Therefore, I decided to create an entire course of videos and additional revision resources geared solely towards helping students to fulfil their potential and deepen their knowledge and understanding of History.

I am committed to developing Throughout History with each academic year, in order to create an online library of resources that is engaging and accessible to all.
